First 24 Hours

The first 24 hours haven't been too bad. For everyone that says the first 24 hours are a piece of cake, though, you don't know our daughter. Typically, babies eat a little bit, and then sleep a majority of a time. Juliette likes to eat, and not sleep. She'll sleep a little here, a little there, but usually she is awake, constantly looking around. Sarah and I managed to get 6 hours of sleep, though, by having Juliette go to the nursery after her late-night feedings.

We did find out today that Juliette has a infection in her right eye - either a small case of pink eye, or the tear ducts in that eye are clogged. The doctor said this wasn't a big deal, but we might get some eye drops or gel to take care of it tomorrow.

This will be my last post until this weekend, when Sarah or I will get some pictures posted, which I'm sure everyone is waiting for :)

  1. Congratulations Kennedy family!!! I'm sure she is beautiful! I love that they didn't say 'it's a girl'...your baby is out and she's peeing is such a good line for the record books, ya know!? I'm so glad that it was short and sweet Sarah, I can only hope that I'll be so lucky :) Can't WAIT to see pics!!!!

  4. Eric and I are very happy for you both! She is darling. I'm very jealous of the delivery time. Mine was 18 long hours!! You know Logan was similar to Juliette in regards to wanting to eat and never sleep. As a matter of fact it was as if the only time he would sleep is when he would eat. Hopefully she'll start sleeping through the nights sooner. I think we (I mean me) were getting up at least once every night until he was 9 months. And, until the past month he would wake up occasionally here and there. See what you have to look forward to!
