What kids are saying these days....

This week a student came up to me in the morning and asked if he could talk to me in the hallway. He seemed very concerned about something. We went into the hallway and I asked him what was the matter. He told me that another student in the school had said I was pregnant. So at this point, I was thinking that isn't so bad. He went on to say that the other student said it was because I got "oogley boogley" with my husband. That's the part that was concerning him and he thought I should know what was said.

Week 27 at the Doctor

My appointment went well. The baby and I are growing on track. I'm measuring at 28 cm. Baby K made his/her presence known during the appointment by kicking and moving around when my doctor was trying to find its heart beat. I go back to teaching tomorrow after having 6 days off. I enjoyed my little vacation and got a lot done.

The cleanest room in the house!

Here are some pictures of Baby K's room and new furniture

Week 26 Pictures

So I can't see my feet anymore when I look down and pregnancy makes me get a little crazy with the camera. I took a bunch of self shots before Bryan finally took my normal belly profile shot. I have a baby doctor appointment tomorrow morning. The baby furniture is all put together. The crib is beautiful. We're very jealous of the baby's furniture. It's going to be hard to go back to work on Tuesday after having 6 days off. I got lot of cleaning done and the Christmas decorations are finally all down.

The Furniture is Here

In the midst of this bitter cold, Baby K's furniture has arrived to be picked up at JC Penny's. Many thanks go out to Bryan's dad for helping. I'm super excited and what is even better is that I have the day off from school tomorrow due to the bitter cold (-35 to -40 with the windchill). Now I'll have all day to play and put it together. I will end up having a 6 day vacation with this weather since we already don't have school on Monday due to MLK Day.

Pics from PURDUE

These pictures are from when we went to meet our friends Marnie, Paul and their son at Purdue on December 30th, Week 24 of our pregnancy.

It's Ladies Night!

Last night, I went out with the ladies while our guys had their annual Halo Extravaganza. The Halo Extravaganza consists of the guys getting together with multiple X-Boxes and TVs and playing Halo, a first person shooter video game. They even made awards to hand out this year for various accomplishments. Bryan brought home an award for killing one of his friends the most. He's very proud of his accomplishment. He is also proud of getting 12 kills in a single round compared to last year where he had less than 10 the entire day. The girls and I went out for dinner at a tapas restaurant. I was the DD for obvious reasons. It was a very enjoyable evening. After dinner we went out to a bar where an 80's cover band was playing. So Baby K had it's first night out at the bar with dancing. My highlight of the evening was when one of my friends said she hopes she's like me when she is pregnant. I finally had to call it quits after midnight.

Furniture

Baby K is going to have nicer furniture that Bryan and I. I finally made a decision this week on the furniture after much debate. The tape measure was brought out many of times to help me decide. I finally settled on a set from JCPenny's called Tori by Savanna. I chose the espresso color. It is due to arrive at the store January 15th. The changer will be delivered to the house since it comes assembled. Hopefully, it doesn't arrive while Bryan is out of town this month. We finished painting Baby K's room today. It is a cucumber green with tan. We're glad that is finally done with. Bryan's mom and I are going to make the valance and bed skirt out of a paw print patterned material I found at JoAnn's. I hope it all looks good together.

It's been awhile.

I just keep on growing and growing. Thankfully, my feet haven't begun to swell, considering how much of my day is spent standing. My students still haven't caught on to the fact that I'm pregnant. I guess they just think I'm getting fat. Bryan and I have been working on the big decision of what crib and dresser we want to get. We both want one with a dark wood stain. We have to decide soon so we can order them. I can't believe I'm already at 25 weeks. The time has gone by so fast and I'm sure it will only start to go faster. I'm really looking forward to my next ultrasound since Bryan was unable to be at the last one. I'll try to get a couple more pictures of me posted soon. I've been very busy this week with returning back to school after a long break. Happy New Year to everyone!
