Exhausted

Christmas is exhausting with an 8 month old. Well, we survived Christmas this year. It was a very busy week. We had a total of 3 "Christmases", Wednesday night, Thursday night, and Christmas Day. Juliette had lots of fun opening her presents. She enjoyed ripping the paper but it got old fast for her so Bryan, Grandma, Grandpa and I ended up opening most of her presents. Grandma and Grandpa Kennedy really enjoyed putting together all the wonderful gifts they got for Juliette. Grandma wasn't kidding when she said that Juliette could probably open her own toy store after Christmas :)

Juliette will now "dance" when she hears music. She will start the music on one of her toys and bounce. She does it standing or sitting. Sometimes she really gets into it and moves her arms too. She is definitely my girl.

Here are some pictures of some pictures of the cookies I made for Bryan to take into work tomorrow. They turned out very tasty.

The Misadventures of Juliette

Juliette has been up to a lot this week. A lot of crazy things.

Last week State Farm had Santa come and visit, so we took Juliette there to sit on Santa's lap and get a present. She did surprisingly well with Santa. I put her on his lap, and she just looked up at him, wondering who this strange looking guy was. To top it off, in continuing her never-ending thrill of pulling hair, she decided to pull Santa's beard and hang onto it when I picked her back up. Of course, Santa's beard didn't come off, but it sure was funny.

Thursday night lead to more excitement. Sarah bought Juliette another gift which, at this point, might end up being a gift for her 2nd birthday, because she has so much stuff. Anyways, she put it on a step going upstairs - roughly 4 or 5 steps up. I went up the steps to look at it, while Juliette was playing with a toy at the base of the stairs. You can probably guess what happened next. She made a strange sound, and I looked down to check on her, only to see...her feet. I had to look closer to me to actually see her, because she started crawling up the stairs. She had made it up to the 2nd/3rd step before I grabbed her. Friday was a little bit more of the same, with her trying to figure out the steps. Then, on Saturday (today, and 3rd day being the charm), Juliette managed to crawl up the steps very quickly when Sarah ran upstairs, and had to be pulled back down. So, now we have to deal with that. Good times.

Tonight, Juliette decided she wanted to help Sarah (un)fold laundry. While looking in the laundry basket, she accidentally fell into it. Then, she got stuck inside the laundry basket. We got some pictures of it, because what else where we going to do - help her first? Juliette eventually started crying, so we took her out, but that was really funny. Now we're curious if she'll do it again.

Sunday, December 6, 2009

It's been way too long since I last posted. Juliette has kept me busy. She has become proficient with crawling. She can really move when she sees something she wants. She enjoys pulling herself up to stand at whatever she can find. I finally broke down and gave her a new toy even though Christmas is just around the corner. I thought she need something new since she hasn't gotten any new toys in months. I got her a piano activity table that she can stand at and do various noise making things. She really enjoys it. Juliette's favorite activities include playing with Smudge's squeaker toys. He'll take the squeaker away and then she take it from him and so on. She also likes to take out toys after I've put them away or staked them neatly. It is truly amazing how much of a mess a little girl can make.

Over the last month I have been busy baking gingerbread houses for a Gingerbread House Party I hosted this Saturday. I baked and assembled 9 houses. This whole process really meant a lot to me. My mom would bake gingerbread houses every year for friends to decorate before she passed away. I really enjoyed seeing how each house was decorated. I had lots of fun preparing for this event, especially buying the candy. Everyone seemed to have a good time. I'm looking forward to doing it again next year.

Today, Bryan put up the Christmas. So far, Juliette has ignored it, even when the lights were on and it was rotating. We'll see how she does once I start to put ornaments on.

Today we got Juliette to clap. It was so cute.

So, I love the look of stainless steel appliances but not with hand prints all over them. Juliette likes to stand at the dishwasher and kiss it.

She's crawling!

Juliette has begun to crawl. She's definately enjoying the freedom.

Baking + Juliette = Mistakes

So I'm going to have to be a bit more carefull baking while dealing with Juliette. I failed to read my recipe completely through and missed the part about refridgerating the dough for a couple of hours. Oops. Also, while doubling the recipe I didn't double the flour. Thankfully, I caught my mistakes before all was lost. The first half of a gingerbread house came out fine. Thankfully I make these houses knowing that I won't be eating them. I over cook the gingerbread to make it sturdier for the house.

Last night our smoke detector decided to go off at 2:30am, then went off again 10 minutes later and then one more time. With the way the house is wired, when one alarm goes off, they all go off. Amazingly, Juliette managed to sleep through the whole thing, including the vacuuming of the culprit alarm right outside her bedroom door.

I give it a week...

I give it a week before Juliette is crawling. Yesterday, she was getting into position but would just flop back down onto her stomach. Today, she is actually starting to move forword a little before she flops down. I guess I should start baby proofing the house. Well, at least Bryan needs to get his PS3 off the floor since she has a thing for expensive electronics. She's also starting to sit up from the crawling position. Soon will be gone the days where I could set her down on the floor and step out of the room for a moment without any worries.

6 month check-up

Juliette had her 6 month check up today. She looks good and strong according to the doctor. She weighed in at 16 lb 14 oz, 75th percentile. She measured 26 inches, 52nd percentile. She got some more shots. I didn't even shed a tear this time. I guess I must have toughened up since Tuesday. She really enjoyed playing with the paper on the exam table.

Finally broke down.

Well, I finally broke down and got Juliette a costume for Halloween with thanks to Grandpa Weldon. It was only $10 so I don't feel too bad about it. She's going to be a traditional pumpkin. She looks pretty cute in the costume. I have yet to get some pictures of her in it.

This has been a very busy week. On Tuesday, we picked up Grandpa Weldon from the Peoria Airport. Juliette did well on the hour drive there but the drive back was a different story. She started crying 15 minutes into the drive. I ended up pulling off at the rest stop to feed her thinking she was hungry. Not the case. She continued to cry after being fed. Finally, we stopped off at Sam's Club 20 min from home to switch drivers. My dad drove and I sat in the back with Juliette while giving driving directions. Then later that day Juliette and I went to the Sale Barn where the health department was have an H1N1 vaccine clinic. I ended up waiting in line 2 hours for Juliette to get her shot. Thankfully, I had her in her carrier and she was good the entire time we waited in line. She even managed to fall asleep among all the noise 10 minutes before she was to get her shot. Luckily, the nurse was able to give the shot to her while she remained in the carrier asleep. She woke up briefly from the prick of the needle but went back to sleep shortly after. I think I shed more tears than she did. Yes, I'm a big softy. I really had to hold back the tears while all the other little kiddies were getting their shots, lots of screams and crying.

Grandpa Weldon has been busy playing with Juliette. She's been giving him lots of smiles. Today, we went shopping for her Christmas presents from him. We had a good time looking at all the different toys. We even helped Grandpa Weldon wrap the presents too.

Juliette goes for her 6 month check up this Friday.

Last Friday, I had the opportunity to sub for the first time this year. I really enjoyed being back in the classroom and working with the little ones.

Sunday, October 11, 2009

This is from awhile ago. Bryan is playing peek a boo with Juliette from behind my laptop.

Sitting up

Juliette is sitting up on her own now. She particularly enjoys playing with her toys while sitting up. She still isn't a big fan of being on her stomach which leads me to think she will be a late crawler or just skip that altogether and walk first instead.

Juliette continues to be a good sleeper at night, only with the occasional mid-night wakings. I have been able to get her to go back to sleep in the middle of the night after a diaper change on her own in her crib. Very helpful.

Last weekend, we took a trip to Rader Farms, with Grandma, on the outskirts of Bloomington. We took a lot of really good Fall pictures of Juliette and managed to get a good family picture too. Juliette did not enjoy walking through the barn with the animals. I don't blame her, it was pretty stinky. I'm really looking forward to her going next year. I think she'll really enjoy it, lots to do for the little ones.

Yesterday, Bryan and I dropped Juliette off at Grandma and Grandpa's for the day while we went to see Michigan State play Illinois in football. The game tickets were one of my birthday presents. Bryan even bought himself a Michigan State t-shirt. I must say he looks good in green :) We really enjoyed the game. Bryan especially liked the guys who sat behind us. They were Illinois fans but they kept on making fun of their own team. This allowed Bryan to speak freely about his hatred for the Illini. Michigan State won! While we were at the game Juliette showed Grandma and Grandpa how loud and long she can cry and scream. Grandma gave her a new toy. Stack & Roll 'em cups. Juliette really enjoys these, as do Bryan and I. They are so much fun and you can do so many things with them.

Bryan is working on getting some of the videos of Juliette edited and shrunk for your viewing pleasure. This week Juliette turns 6 months and I think it's about time we get some videos of her posted for everyone.

Sunday, September 20, 2009

With great suprise today, I discovered that Juliette's two lower front teeth have already cut through her gums. My little girl is growing up. I did not expect this so soon. This probably explains her increased irritability and difficulty sleeping at night.

Learned something new.

Yesterday, Bryan and I decided to attend our church's Irish Pumpkin Festival/chicken dinner with Juliette. Juliette, however, had other plans. She did not enjoy the Festival at all. She cried, more like wailing, the entire time under the big tent. She did not like all the people or the loud music. We had tried giving her a bottle, walking her outside the tent away from the noise, which helped a bit. We ate our meals in shifts. Finally, we decided to leave before we had even finished our desserts. We just couldn't get her calmed down. Now, I was fully prepared for her to cry the entire way home since she doesn't enjoy being in her car seat. However, as soon as I put her in her car seat she calmed down. Conclusion: Juliette does not like loud music with lots of people.

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Juliette continues to amaze us. After her shots she had a bad week. She was extremely cranky. She wasn't sleeping through the night, waking up every 2 hours screaming. Luckily, whatever was bothering her whether it was illness or a growth spurt it has passed. This past week she started to eat solids. She seems to like it. The key is to feed her in the mornings when she has the most patience. So far she has had rice cereal and squash. Tomorrow she gets to try either apples or sweet potatoes.

Juliette is getting much more vocal. She's making all sorts of sounds. Juliette enjoys being held, carried in the sling, jumping in her jumperoo, playing peek a boo, and playing with mom and dad. Juliette is even kind enough to play by herself sometimes so that I can get some things done. She also enjoys our daily outings. I try to get out of the house everyday with her for a change in scenery. She enjoys going grocery shopping with me. She especially loves all the compliments she gets from strangers while we're out, many comments about her big blue eyes.

Smudge has really warmed up to Juliette. He'll give her kisses which she smiles at. He is extremely protective of her when we go on walks in the subdivision. He goes nuts when anyone approaches unless its a construction worker. For some reason he doesn't bark at them.

This past Sunday, we went to 7:30 am mass. Juliette was very good except for when she decided to babble during quiet times. The acoustics in the church made her seem really loud. I guess I should be grateful that she wasn't crying.

On Saturday she got to have some Daddy-Daughter time while I went to a baby shower. She was very good for Bryan, much better than in the past. They enjoyed watching the Purdue Football game. Each time Purdue got a touchdown he would raise her in the air and do push-up with her.

It's hard to believe that next week she will be 5 months old.

4 month check up

Juliette had her 4 month check-up today. She weighed in at 14 lbs 12 oz (75th percentile). She measured 25 1/2 in (90th percentile). Her head circumference was 15 3/4 in (30th percentile). She is doing well. She seems to have forgotten how to roll over already. She hasn't done it in a couple days. She also had some shots today. Thankfully, they just made her very sleepy today. This past weekend was the first weekend in over a month where we didn't have anything going on. Bryan was able to thoroughly clean the garage (swept, sprayed down with water, de-bugged, etc). He was very proud of his work. Juliette and I spend the weekend working on the inside of the house. Juliette is too big for almost all of her 3 month clothes. For some reason we have loads of 9+ month clothes but we're lacking in the 6 month department. I guess I'll have to hit up those clearance racks. Juliette is getting more vocal. She enjoys making raspberries and eating her hands. She has this annoying habit of spitting up while she has her hand in her month and leaving it there. Makes clean-up difficult. She is grabbing for toys. She also likes sitting in her Bumbo seat with the tray. I'll put toys on the tray, she'll grab for one and in the process knock all the others off. Then she'll drop the one she has and gets mad because there aren't anymore toys. So I put a bunch back on for her and the cycle starts again. We like to call this little game "Clear the Tray"

Oh yeah, the big news is that Juliette got the ok to start on solid foods. We will start that new adventure later this week with rice cereal.

Keep 'em rollin'

Juliette is now rolling around! She sure is growing. She'll roll onto her stomach and get upset since she would rather be on her back. She hasn't quite realized that if she just rolls over again she'll be on her back again.

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

Go Figure.

I put Juliette down on her back on the floor while I went to take Smudge out to do his business in the morning and when I came back in she was on her stomach. Go figure. She rolls over when I'm not watching.

We've been busy!

I apologize for the long time between posts. We've been a very busy family. Juliette crossed state lines for the first time. We made the long drive to Northern Wisconson to visit some of my family. Juliette got to meet her Great Grandma Weldon, Great Aunt Jeanie, Great Aunt Doris, cousin Kim and cousin Nicole. It was nice to see the family but very exhausting for Juliette. Three days with no naps is not that fun. Juliette handled the normally 7 1/2 hour drive pretty well. It only took us 10 hours even with leaving at 4am with the hopes that Juliette would sleep for a good chunk of the drive.

This past weekend, Juliette was finally baptized. She enjoyed spending time with her new Godparents, Dan and Amanda.

Juliette continues to grow. She enjoys playing with her chain links the most out of all her toys. Go figure her favorite toy is the least expensive. On August 22nd, she goes in for her 4 month check up. I can't wait to see how much she has grown. She is growing out of her 3 month clothes and moving into 6 month clothes.

This upcoming weekend we will be going to South Bend, Indiana for a picnic wedding reception for one of Bryan's college friends. Hopefully the drive doesn't take too long.

Funny Story

A couple weeks ago, I had to change Juliette while we were having dinner at Logan's. While changing her I was talking to her as usual and said her name. Next, I heard from one of the stalls "oh, that is such a pretty name!"

Today, Juliette seems to be back to her old days of wanting to nurse constantly. Hopefully, I only have to deal with it for one or two more days until my body can keep up with her needs. Juliette's hair is growing but she still looks like her grandpa from behind, more hair on the back and sides of her head than on the top.

They grow up so fast!

Yesterday, Juliette rolled over from her stomach to her back twice. I caught the second roll on video. Juliette just keeps on changing. Today she decided to try and stick her fist in her mouth. She put her fingers in so far she started to choke on them. Silly girl. She's going through a couple bibs a day now due to drooling and spit up. She's also beginning to make more noises. She enjoys cooing and blowing bubbles. For the most part, Juliette is sleeping through the night in her crib. I want to take her to have professional pictures done but her skin on her forehead is really dry and flakey right now. Plus she keeps on scratching her face even after we trim her nails.

Juliette's First Mass

This morning we decided to be brave and take Juliette to church. She is usually a very happy easy going baby in the mornings. We made sure we arrived at 7:30 mass early to ensure we got a back pew. Juliette fell asleep on the 5 minute drive to church and basically slept up until communion. Juliette was nice and content for the rest of mass. However, as Bryan sat back down after getting communion Juliette spit up. It was one of those times when she spits it at least a foot in front of her. Most of it landed on Bryan's knee, to his dismay, with a little on the carpet. We're glad she didn't do it while Bryan was carrying her for communion.

For the past two weeks, my dad visited us from Florida. Juliette enjoyed her time with Grandpa Weldon. He really enjoyed singing and dancing for her. He's already booked a flight to see her in October.

Juliette continues to grow and change everyday. Last night she slept from 9pm til almost 6am. It was a good nights sleep we all needed. Juliette had her 2 month check-up this past week. She weighed in at 11 lbs 9 oz, 23 3/4 inches. Her doctor said she's looking great. She handled her shots as any baby should, crying. She slept most of the day after her shots.

Saturday, June 13, 2009

Lots of changes.

Juliette is changing more and more everyday. Over the last couple weeks she has been smiling more and more. This week she is almost a completely different baby when it comes to sleeping. She has been sleeping more during the day (she is still very fussy in the evenings) and has been sleeping better through the night. For the past 3 nights, I've only had to get up once in the night to change and feed Juliette. Let's hope she keeps this up. Yesterday, we picked up my dad from the airport. He was very happy to see Juliette for the first time. Also this week, my friend Rachel came to visit before she moved out to Pennsylvania for med school. It was great to have someone home with me during the day while Bryan was at work.

Pictures will be posted soon.

Someone call a HazMat Team

So on Monday while I was in the shower, Juliette in her bouncer seat, she began to cry. So I finished up my shower without a big rush. When I got out of the shower, I saw what she was screaming about. Her diaper had exploded. She had poop everywhere: leg, bib, seat, and hands. Breastfed babies can go a couple of days without a bowel movement and when it happens you better watch out. I took a picture to document the momentous occasion for Bryan. I had to give her a bath, my first one without Bryan to help. I felt so bad for Juliette because she had to sit awhile in the mess while I got the bath and supplies all ready to go. I'm not looking forward to the day when she has an explosion while we are out.

A very busy day.

We had a very exciting day today. We spent the morning at the dog park and disc golf course. We were at the dog park by 8:45am. Very impressive I must say. We have to go early to avoid other dogs since Smudge doesn't do very well around them. This week we got a new video camera so Bryan was recording Smudge as he ran around the park. Smudge was particularly energetic. He ran around the park much more than usual. He must have been showing off for the camera. Juliette slept the entire time in her front carrier. I tried throwing a couple discs while wearing Juliette but it didn't go so well. I ended up holding Smudge's leash while Bryan played a couple holes.

In the afternoon we went to Crawfish Boil benefiting a friend's Relay for Life team. Again, Juliette slept the entire time, only this time in her stroller. Juliette sleeps the best during the day while we're on some sort of outing. I just wish she could take those types of naps at home so I could get some work done around the house or work on her scrapbook.

Bryan is getting her hooked on games as soon as he can.

Isn't she cute?

She's growing!

Juliette's weight is doing much better. Last Monday she was 9lbs and yesterday she weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 15oz. The doctor has given me the ok to stop supplementing. I'm still having to pump as often as I can in the morning and afternoon when my supply is highest. My lactation consultant has encouraged me to take an herbal supplement, fenugreek, to increase my supply. One of the side effects of it is that sweat and urine will smell like maple syrup :) Juliette is getting close to smiling or so we like to think. Last night she sleep for over 4 hours straight. Very nice for me.

Sorry it took me so long

I apologize for the delay in postings. Juliette keeps me very busy. Juliette and I have been home now for almost 3 weeks while Bryan has been at work. My first week home with Juliette went pretty well. When Juliette was 3 weeks old I decided to take her in for a weight check to see how she was doing. She didn't gain as much weight as the doctor would have liked so he suggested we supplement with either some of my pumped milk or formula. Unfortunately, I didn't have that much of my milk stored yet to supplement with so we had to use some formula too. Supplementing with my milk and formula seemed to really help Juliette's diaper rash. It cleared up very quickly after we started. So that week I spent basically nursing Juliette, supplementing from a bottle and then pumping only to start the cycle again less than 2 hours later. After a week of supplementing I took Juliette back in for another weight check and she had gained almost 13 ounces in one week. The pain was worth it. This week I am trying to cut back the supplementing. This morning I nursed Juliette and she didn't even want the bottle afterwards. Yay! She was full from me and slept for an hour afterwards. Overall things are going well. Juliette only wakes twice in the night usually between 2 and 3am and then again between 4 and 6am to eat or a diaper change. I've gotten used to is.

This morning while I was pumping in my living room, I heard the outside faucet turn on. I thought this was odd. I look out my living room window and see one of the construction workers just outside my window. Of course I freak out, since I'm sitting on my couch with my breast pump attached to me. I bet he got a real shock if he had looked in the window. When I saw him he had his backed turned to me.

I'll try to post some pictures of Juliette soon. She is up to 9 lbs and almost 22 inches long. She's a growing girl.

Juliette's Butt

Poor Juliette. She has come down with a bad case of diaper rash. Bryan and I are doing everything we can for her, but she's still uncomfortable. We've been soaking her bottom, using one of my extra peri-water bottles I got from the hospital to clean her bottom after every bowel movement, and letting her air out while I'm feeding her or she is napping. Who knew such a cute looking baby could produce such gross noises or make such a mess. If she has a larger bowel movement without her diaper on you better watch out. She can shoot that stuff at least 6-12 inches. Bryan has yet to get used to it. To make things worse for Juliette, her bottom gets irritated from even the smallest mess in her diaper, which happens very often at this point.

On a sweeter note, today, while the oven was on, nothing was burning but the smoke alarms went off while I was changing Juliette. To fix the alarms Bryan got the shop vac and took it upstairs to clear out whatever was making the smoke alarms go off. As soon as the vac went on, Juliette's eyes closed and she was down for the count. She slept with the vac on for almost 20 minutes. We've also noticed she likes her changing table downstairs and will start to doze off in it sometimes - as long as she has a clean diaper, of course!

Who's advice do you take?

Juliette had her second well check appointment today. She is growing nicely. She gained 8 ounces since last Monday. I'm totally confused on what advice to follow when it comes to feeding Juliette. He doctor said to nurse her every 2-2 1/2 hours and let her have 15 minutes on each breast. The lactation consultants at the hospital say to let her nurse when she wants and as long as she wants. It's totally confusing. Bryan and I decided to follow a combination of the two and see how that goes. Feed every 2 hours but let her nurse as long as she wants. We'll see how that goes. Who knows we'll probably try something different tomorrow. Today is the first day where I can truly say that we have gotten her to sleep out of our arms during the day. She has taken to her bouncy seat. It's just a matter of having one of us bounce her in it continuously. It is amazing how much her personality changes each day and how much we learn about her. We've pretty gotten down the difference between the "I'm hungry " cry and the "I made a mess in my diaper just for you Dad" cry.

Finally getting a hang of this whole parenting thing

Bryan and I have decided that at this point we can handle visitors to see Juliette. She keeps a very busy schedule of eating and napping but I'm sure we can work in all of her eager fans. Just let us know a day and time and we'll try to have her ready for you or will let you know when she is ready for you :) Thank you for all your support and well wishes.

Juliette / Bed

Sarah's been on my case about posting to the blog more. So three blog posts in a short time span should get me off the hook for a little bit. It'll be interesting to see if she reads my posts and comments on this one. If not, I can bug her about not reading the blog as often as she should :)

Anyways...last night was another first for Juliette. After feeding, Sarah put Juliette in the Pack 'n Play next to our bed and she slept for two hours straight, three different times. Sarah was finally able to get a good night's rest, and it was nice for her not to have to hold Juliette for her to fall asleep. What's even more impressive is that we had a lot of rain and wind last night - so much that Smudge got scared and had to sleep closer to us. Juliette? Slept right through all of it.

We're starting to think that Juliette has this baby thing figured out. Eat, sleep in bed, pee, poop, repeat. In all honesty, it's not that bad of a gig.

Juliette's First Walk

No, Juliette isn't walking yet. On Thursday, Sarah and I took her on a walk around the subdivision with everyone's favorite cocker spaniel, Smudge. She just slept the entire time, even with all the wind that we were experiencing (side note - it will be really nice when more houses are built in the subdivision, to act as wind blocks).

Smudge was excellent on the walk. For the first time, he wasn't pulling on his leash to go on the walk. Instead, Sarah was Juliette in the stroller went first, followed by Smudge on his leash, followed by me (shows you the order of power in the house, doesn't it?). We were curious how the first walk would be with the two of them, and we were proud of them both.

Daddy's Caddy

A couple months ago, while shopping at Meijer, I was checking out the clearance video game section, and found Tiger Woods 07 for $9. Granted, it's a 3 year old game, but I'm not going to argue for $9.

This past Wednesday, I finally mastered the art of playing the PS3 and holding Juliette. She sleeps in my arms, I can play video games. I started playing Tiger Woods again and, for some reason, I started doing really, really well while holding her in my arms. My drives went longer, my putts all seemed to go in - it was perfect. Therefore, while playing Tiger Woods golf, Juliette is now "Daddy's Caddy."

Hooray for pee and poop!

Juliette is so sweet. Yesterday, she managed to pee and poop on two separate occasions while we were changing her diaper. Man, that girl can pee. Since I'm breastfeeding Juliette, I've been somewhat freaking out about whether she is getting enough milk. Yesterday it seemed as though she wanted to be attached too me 90% of the day. But I'm beginning to realize that two hours can go by really quickly and that is why it seems that way. Today has been the first day where she has numerable wet diapers and she had her first soiled diaper that actually looked as it should. This was all very reassuring to me since I was pretty much in hysterics over it last night. Poor Bryan, not only does he have to deal with Juilette's crying but mine as well. So in the end, I am much more relaxed today. I get very happy when Juliette dirties a diaper. Yay for pee and poop! Tomorrow we are going to our Lactation consultant at the hospital to have her watch and help me breast feed Juliette. Hopefully this will put the rest of my breastfeeding fears behind me.

Bryan is a great DAD!

Last night during one of my attempts to put Juliette down in her crib after nursing, I saw the cutest thing. I went to see if Bryan was sleeping. I figure at least one of us should be getting a good night rest. I found him lying in bed twitching his leg. I woke him up to ask him if he was ok because I saw his leg twitching. He answered back with "I thought I was holding Juliette." He was trying to keep her calm. I thought it was the sweetest thing. Bryan is truly wonderful with Juliette. This morning I told him about the incident and he didn't even remember it. Even when he is sleeping he is a great daddy. Hopefully, I don't jinx things but right now is the first time Juliette has sleep out of one of our arms for more than half an hour. Hopefully, this trend will continue.
