Juliette's First Mass

This morning we decided to be brave and take Juliette to church. She is usually a very happy easy going baby in the mornings. We made sure we arrived at 7:30 mass early to ensure we got a back pew. Juliette fell asleep on the 5 minute drive to church and basically slept up until communion. Juliette was nice and content for the rest of mass. However, as Bryan sat back down after getting communion Juliette spit up. It was one of those times when she spits it at least a foot in front of her. Most of it landed on Bryan's knee, to his dismay, with a little on the carpet. We're glad she didn't do it while Bryan was carrying her for communion.

For the past two weeks, my dad visited us from Florida. Juliette enjoyed her time with Grandpa Weldon. He really enjoyed singing and dancing for her. He's already booked a flight to see her in October.

Juliette continues to grow and change everyday. Last night she slept from 9pm til almost 6am. It was a good nights sleep we all needed. Juliette had her 2 month check-up this past week. She weighed in at 11 lbs 9 oz, 23 3/4 inches. Her doctor said she's looking great. She handled her shots as any baby should, crying. She slept most of the day after her shots.

Lots of changes.

Juliette is changing more and more everyday. Over the last couple weeks she has been smiling more and more. This week she is almost a completely different baby when it comes to sleeping. She has been sleeping more during the day (she is still very fussy in the evenings) and has been sleeping better through the night. For the past 3 nights, I've only had to get up once in the night to change and feed Juliette. Let's hope she keeps this up. Yesterday, we picked up my dad from the airport. He was very happy to see Juliette for the first time. Also this week, my friend Rachel came to visit before she moved out to Pennsylvania for med school. It was great to have someone home with me during the day while Bryan was at work.

Pictures will be posted soon.

Someone call a HazMat Team

So on Monday while I was in the shower, Juliette in her bouncer seat, she began to cry. So I finished up my shower without a big rush. When I got out of the shower, I saw what she was screaming about. Her diaper had exploded. She had poop everywhere: leg, bib, seat, and hands. Breastfed babies can go a couple of days without a bowel movement and when it happens you better watch out. I took a picture to document the momentous occasion for Bryan. I had to give her a bath, my first one without Bryan to help. I felt so bad for Juliette because she had to sit awhile in the mess while I got the bath and supplies all ready to go. I'm not looking forward to the day when she has an explosion while we are out.
