We had another doctor visit yesterday. Everything is looking good. I'm dilated to 2 cm. I've been having some Braxton Hicks contractions. Those are exciting. Bryan was amazed at how hard my belly gets when I'm having one. I'm still just 70% effaced. We decided I'm just going to tough it out with Baby K and not induce since my OB feels I should be able to handle Baby K. We will have to induce though if Baby K decides to hang around in me past our due date. I keep on telling Baby K to wait until Sunday afternoon. We have some friends coming to visit this weekend and we wouldn't want to have to cancel on them.
Last night, Bryan and I went to our breast feeding class. A doll was passed around and we had to guess how much we thought it weighed. So of course, Bryan grabs it by the head and starts swinging it like a bowling ball to get a feel for its weight. I was slightly embarassed. The doll felt pretty heavy to me and apparently to everyone else in the class. The guesses ranged from 8.5 pounds up to 12 pounds. Actual weight of the doll, less than 6 pounds. I pretty much freaked out at that point and so did everyother pregnant woman in the room.
I love my class and all but I am ready for a break from them and I'm pretty sure they are ready for a break from me since I've been a little short with them. Most of them are pretty understanding. I even have one student who says "we know Mrs. Kennedy that it's not good for your baby when you have to yell." I'm going to miss them.

Gosh I am so tired. I first read it and thought you were tired of your baby classes. I guess I need more rest! Hopefully you do not have to be induced. Not fun.
ReplyDeleteI lol'd at the swinging the doll around by it's head :) In our class, we had a doll and a plastic pelvis that they passed around to show how the baby's head has to turn to pass through and Greg managed to get the kid stuck in the pelvis, so he was banging the head on the table to try to get it out. OMG, talk about embarassing hahaha :) Men. Bryan and Greg should be friends. Glad you don't have to be induced quite yet. GOOD LUCK!!!! I'm so excited for you to find out if it's a s/he and for you to finally meet him or her!
