We had another doctor visit yesterday. Everything is looking good. I'm dilated to 2 cm. I've been having some Braxton Hicks contractions. Those are exciting. Bryan was amazed at how hard my belly gets when I'm having one. I'm still just 70% effaced. We decided I'm just going to tough it out with Baby K and not induce since my OB feels I should be able to handle Baby K. We will have to induce though if Baby K decides to hang around in me past our due date. I keep on telling Baby K to wait until Sunday afternoon. We have some friends coming to visit this weekend and we wouldn't want to have to cancel on them.
Last night, Bryan and I went to our breast feeding class. A doll was passed around and we had to guess how much we thought it weighed. So of course, Bryan grabs it by the head and starts swinging it like a bowling ball to get a feel for its weight. I was slightly embarassed. The doll felt pretty heavy to me and apparently to everyone else in the class. The guesses ranged from 8.5 pounds up to 12 pounds. Actual weight of the doll, less than 6 pounds. I pretty much freaked out at that point and so did everyother pregnant woman in the room.
I love my class and all but I am ready for a break from them and I'm pretty sure they are ready for a break from me since I've been a little short with them. Most of them are pretty understanding. I even have one student who says "we know Mrs. Kennedy that it's not good for your baby when you have to yell." I'm going to miss them.

Week 36 at the Doctor
Everything is looking good. Baby K's current estimated weight is at 7lbs 7oz. When we meet with my doctor next week we'll discuss whether we want to induce a week early or not. I'm dilated at 1cm and 70% effaced. So my baby gate is starting to open :) I'm still feeling pretty good. I've been getting sharp pains in my pelvic area due to my ligaments stretching, basically making room for chubby. It only happens when I'm walking so when it happens I bascially just stop in my tracks and wait for it to stop. I told my students today that I would not be coming back after the baby because I will need to stay home and take care of my baby. They seemed to take it pretty well.

I have ankles again!
The swelling in my ankles has gone down amazingly. I could actually see the veins in my feet today. Not sure what I did differently the last few days. On Friday, I felt like Baby K was going to come very soon. On Friday, everyone at school kept on going on and on about how I'm not going to make it till Spring Break (April 3rd). Talking about how big I'm getting. So that didn't help my mental state very much. In the beginning of the pregnancy, I loved hearing about how big I was but now I'm just tired of being big. It's such a chore just turning over in bed or getting out of bed, which happens frequently during the night to go to the bathroom. However, the past two days, I've been feeling much better. On Tuesday, I have another Ultrasound. This will help my OB determine what she wants to do with me and Baby K. Unfortunately, she will be on vacation this week, so I will have to wait until my next appointment on March 30th, to hear what she thinks. Bryan and I picked out our "Coming Home" outfits for Baby K this weekend. I say "outfits" because we have one for a girl and one for a boy. Bryan had fun this morning at church playing keep away with Baby K. He would run this fingers across my belly and he swears Baby K was following his fingers. It was really cute.

I learned a new word this week!
That new word is CANKLES. I now have cankles. According to the Urban dictionary it means that there is no distinction between where my calf and ankle begins. So yeah, my ankles and now my toes are really swollen. It's oh so sexy. I wore my Croc sandles to school today because I didn't even want to bother trying to put on my shoes or socks. I tried putting my feet up at work today but it's really pointless since I'm up and down so much with my students. Also when I try to put my feet up at work my tailbone starts to hurt since I don't a very comfortable chair to work in. My last day of teaching is April 3rd. I just need to make it to April 6th according to Bryan so that Baby K's arrival doesn't interfere with March Madness!

Better get that bag packed.
I had a baby appointment yesterday. Things are looking good. My doctor said I'm starting to thin out and dilate. Baby K's heart rate was at 155 beats/minute. Baby K has his/her head down. My doctor didn't seem concerned that I would be having this baby anytime soon but things are in motion. So I guess I better work on getting my classroom ready for my sub. I need to make it so that someone besides me can find everything. Bryan and I still have a lot to do before Baby K's arrival. All I ask of Baby K is to wait until I have my room, plans, and notes ready for my sub and then Baby K is welcome to come when he/she pleases. We have an ultrasound next week to check on Baby K's size.

Baby hormones make me a crazy fan!
So for the most part, I have never been on of those fans of college basketball that screams and yells at their team. This season is a whole new deal. I'm not sure if it's Bryan's influence or the influx of hormones in my body. But now I find myself yelling and getting very emotional over basketball games, Purdue or Michigan State. Last night I actually threw the 600 page novel I was reading across the room because I was so fed up with Purdue's playing last night. Then after the game, I actually teared up because Purdue lost. It was crazy. I have never been like that over a basketball game. So beware of flying objects around me when my team is not cutting it in the game.

Week 33 Doctor Visit
Ok, I just realized that this whole time when I've been putting down what my doctor measures me at, I've been putting it in INCHES instead of centimeters. Pregnancy brain fart. So yeah, this week I measured at 36 cm NOT 36 inches. My appointment went well today. The baby's heart beat sounded good and I'm measuring fine. I have another visit in 2 weeks and then after that I'll be going every week. We had a family baby shower this weekend. We had fun for the most part putting together the baby gear we got.
